Conducted two studies to test the notion that various factors, i.e., situation-personal, may differentially affect degrees of entrapment (amount invested) depending upon the point in time at which they are introduced. The results of both studies suggest amount invested depends upon timing in the entrapment process. (RC)

Used an exchange theory model to examine the remarriage behavior of 26 financially secure and insecure women. Results showed financially secure women had more opportunities to date but were more likely to be independent in their relationships with men and less anxious to remarry. (JAC)

Examined relationships between employment and crime in 61 male misdemeanants. For many, low-level employment and crime were not mutually exclusive, although most respondents were not employed at the time of the arrest that led to their current incarceration. Combinations of employment and crime were more complex than anticipated. (JAC)

Reviews research on the cognitive style of Mexican-American students by identifying and describing several important components including field-dependence-independence and cultural influences. Extensive cross-cultural research has provided insufficient evidence to formulate generalizations on the influence to cognitive style on school achievement.…
