Test-retest reliability of the Q-Sort Inventory of Parenting Behaviors was obtained with a sample of 30 mothers of 3-year-olds. The within-subject correlation, with 2 weeks between test administrations, for sorting the test statements was 0.72. Examines sexual behaviors, drug use, and knowledge of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) among 108 runaways in Cleveland (Ohio). Results indicate variable rates of risk behavior, AIDS knowledge, and minimal drug use. Results suggest that it should not be assumed that all runaways engage in health-compromising sexual behaviors. Questioned 2,291 American males to determine the proportion of men who assault only extrafamilial persons, are violent only toward their wives, and are violent in both spheres. Results suggest that 90 percent of violent males specialized in their choice of victims, choosing to assault only wives or nonfamily members, but not both. (RJM)

This study compared parental assessments of problem behaviors among 81 alleged sexual abuse victims and 90 nonabused comparison subjects. Findings indicated that sexual abuse victims exhibit more problem behaviors, but caution must be exercised when interpreting individual behaviors because of their frequency in a nonabused sample.
