The 3-year-old's mode of expressing separation distress, observed during nursery school adaptation, was explored in relation to parental child care styles. The use/nonuse character of illicit drugs was essentially the same among students in a rural southern setting as had been previously demonstrated for more urbanized regions. Results suggest that the students responses were more of a male v female than user v nonuser phenomenon. (Author)

It was hypothesized that similar testing situations would reveal consistent behavior in 20 preschoolers. No significant correlations were found when the intersession interval was three to four days, but significant correlations were noted when the interval was 12 to 14 days, apparently due to perceived novelty of the second situation.
