This article describes the use of doctoral candidates in guidance and counseling as supervisors in the Master's students' practicum. The program has six components: (1) formulation of a model; (2) work with the practicum student; (3) groups; (4) a faculty advisor; (5) a field supervisor; and (6) evaluation. (NG)

Results from a 2 x 2 factorial design with a single control group revealed that microcounseling subjects gained significantly more in criterion performance than the control group. There was virtually no difference in the effectiveness of the two micromodels, and behavioral supervision was somewhat more successful than recall interrogation. (Author)

Student teachers were video-taped in teaching situations and their behavior was coded to determine the relative cognitive or affective emphasis of their teaching.
