Hermans' and Mehrabian's tests of achievement motivation were correlated with the achievement via conformance and achievement via independence scales of the California Psychological Inventory. The Mehrabian test was associated only with the achievement via conformance scale, but Hermans' measure was rather strongly related to both scales.…

Reliability and validity data are reported for a questionnaire measure of individual differences in dominance-submissiveness. The 48-item questionnaire, which was balanced for response bias, had high internal consistency and correlated highly with other available measure of dominance. (Author/JKS)

The relationship between Elizur's Hostility Scoring on the Rorschach Test and the Acting-Out Score on the Hand Test was examined. Correlations between the two measures (using several scoring procedures) ranged from .40 to .64. (JKS)

A method to improve personality inventory validity by presenting positively keyed items from a single trait in descending order of endorsement and encouraging subjects to respond in terms of the resulting Guttman scale is presented.
