A review of research on student perceptions of their schools and classrooms is presented. Six categories of student perceptions are investigated, and ways in which student views may be collected and utilized are suggested. (MJB)

Based on responses from 183 Iowa vocational agriculture students who had participated in various types of supervised occupational experience (SOE) programs, the environmental and program factors that these students felt important in planning and conducting their SOE programs are presented in rank order. Several concerns regarding a shift from separate science disciplines to unified science in the secondary school are expresed. As an alternative, a life science--materials science diversion is proposed with applied sciences in each division providing an overlapping of areas. (CP)

The administrator of a recreational program needs to constantly evaluate that program to be sure it is accomplishing the objectives for which it is established; while objective and subjective evaluation on the part of leaders and participants are valuable, factual computerized data are also a reliable tool. Recreational programming for older adults should provide for enjoyment, a sense of belonging, new learning experiences, new skills development, recognition and utilization of old skills, opportunities to serve others, and formation of new friendships. (JD)
